Hearing Aid Patients - Homepage
Helen Keller Once
Said...
“I am just as deaf as I am
blind. The problems of deafness are deeper and more complex,
if not more important than those of blindness. Deafness is a
much worse misfortune. For it means the loss of the most vital
stimulus-- the sound of the voice that brings language, sets
thoughts astir, and keeps us in the intellectual company of
man. Blindness separates us from things but deafness separates
us from people.”
For years hearing loss was
considered to be only a disease of the aging population.
Research has proven that hearing loss can affect anyone at any
age, regardless of his or her background or occupation. It
most often occurs at such a gradual rate that the individual
is not aware of its severity until they are in the latter
stages of the disease process.
